Meet Dr. Shabnam Toopchi, DDS

Pediatric Dentist | Clinical Researcher | Former Faculty at University of Detroit Mercy | Tufts-Trained Smile Expert

Dr. Shabnam Toopchi brings together science, artistry, and compassion to create a pediatric dental experience that children love and parents trust. Her goal is to make dental visits a positive, stress-free experience, where little patients leave with big smiles and parents feel confident about their child’s oral health.

Dr. Toopchi is a pediatric dental pro with advanced training in both minimally invasive techniques and surgical pediatric procedures. Academic Excellence and Training

Dr. Toopchi earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) and completed her specialty residency in Pediatric Dentistry at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston, Massachusetts—one of the nation’s top 10 dental schools. There, she was recognized for her outstanding academic and research achievements, including first place in Tufts’ interdepartmental research competition.

After Tufts, Dr. Toopchi joined the University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry as a Clinical Assistant Professor, where she taught pediatric dentistry, mentored dental students, and directed advanced clinical courses. Her work as an educator refined her gentle, patient-centered approach and deepened her understanding of children’s behavioral and developmental needs in dentistry.

Office Manager

With over 25 years of experience in the dental field, Velvet is an invaluable part of our team. She has worked in various roles, including Registered Dental Assistant (RDA), Front Desk Coordinator, Treatment Coordinator, and now as our dedicated Office Manager. Her vast experience and deep understanding of pediatric dentistry allow her to ensure that every family receives the highest level of care and service.

Velvet truly loves what she does, and it shows in the way she interacts with patients and their families. She is passionate about making every visit smooth, stress-free, and enjoyable. Whether it’s helping you navigate insurance, scheduling appointments, or answering any questions, Velvet is always ready to assist with a warm smile.

Outside of the office, Velvet cherishes spending time with her family. She is also a devoted animal lover, and if you ask her, she’ll gladly share heartwarming stories about her furry friends! We are lucky to have her as part of our team, and we know you’ll love getting to know her too!

Nichole’s

Front Desk Receptionist

Born and raised on the East Coast in New York, Nicole brings a warm and welcoming energy to Kids Dental Corner. With four years of experience in the dental field, she loves greeting families, making patients feel at ease, and ensuring every visit runs smoothly.

One of Nichole’s favorite parts of her job is building relationships with patients and chatting about our office fish, Bruce! She takes pride in making every child’s dental experience a great one, helping parents feel informed, and creating a friendly environment for all.

When she’s not at the office, Nichole enjoys spending time with her husband, daughter, and their family dog. She also loves traveling, taking bike rides, and making unforgettable memories with friends and loved ones. She looks forward to welcoming you and your child with a big smile and a friendly conversation!

Christina

Front Desk Receptionist

When you walk into Kids Dental Corner, one of the first friendly faces you’ll see is Christina! As our front desk receptionist, she’s the heart of our office, making sure every family feels welcome and taken care of from the moment they step inside.

Outside of work, Christina loves spending time with her husband, often helping him with his business on the weekends. She’s also a passionate cat lover and a proud cat mom to “Cowboy” and “Friday”. Ask her about their latest antics!

In addition to her role at the office, Christina has been a professional makeup artist for over 10 years, specializing in SFX and wedding makeup. Her love for all things beauty and skincare is a big part of who she is. And if you ever want to know her favorite colors, they’re black and turquoise!

With her warm personality and dedication to making every visit a smooth and enjoyable experience, Christina is here to help with scheduling, insurance questions, and anything else you might need. She looks forward to greeting you and your little one with a smile!

I am an invaluable asset to our team, consistently demonstrating dedication, expertise, and a passion for excellence that inspires us all.
